Default Whirlpool - dryer won't heat - even with new heat. element
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: leq-9508pw0
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care 2 dryer that no longer heats. I assumed it was the heating element and replaced it. After turning the dryer back on and letting it run high for 20 minutes, there was no heat on the clothes. The heating element was cold as well.

The old heating element was blackened some on a few coils and some lint I pulled out of the bottom of the dryer was also black on one side.

If anyone has any thoughts on what to check next, I would greatly appreciate it. All wires appear to be in tight.

Thank you.
Gene

Have you check the voltage at the wall?

You should have 240 volts.

Check the wiring in the dryer.

Here is a link to your dryer model leq9508pw0.

Ohm out the thermal fuse. It is located on the top of the heater housing. It has 2 wires coming to it, with plastic connectors, on the spade terminals. They go out all the time. Also make sure you check your vent to the outside, when you get it up and running. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
