Default Whirlpool Dryer Turns Off
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER6620PQ0
Age: 1 - 4 years

My Whirlpool dryer is only about 2 years old. After the dryer runs for about 30 min it turns off and will not restart. The dryer will be very hot to the touch. After letting the dryer cool down it will restart. I have checked the lint trap, and taken the dryer apart to make sure there was no clog in the vent, and everything was clear. The blower is working and seems to be blowing hard. I am willing to try anything so any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Does your dryer vent through the wall directly outside? Or does the vent go up through the roof? If through the roof it could be clogged up in the attic. if your dryer top gets real hot then it's not venting properly, does it take longer to dry clothes? Then it's clogged

The vent goes through a long wall and it is not clogged. Just to be sure I shortened the vent to go about 4 ft and vented it in to my garrage. It seems to be drying the clothes pretty good in the 30 minutes that it will run, but it is hard to tell since it won't run a full cycle.
