I found this article, but it doesn't say how to replace the coils.

The coils were bad. I took the whole burner assembly into a local shop and they tested it and found the coils to be bad. To replace them, you just have to remove the 2 screws that holds the retaining bracket, #12 on the part diagram, for the coils. Just make sure to put the 3 plug and 2 plug coil in the right place and line up the buttons on the coils to the holes on the bracket and you should be fine.

How did you get to the burner assembly to take it out? Do you lay the dryer on its side, or somehow remove the whole outer metal shell, or...? There is no front access panel.

I replaced the gas valve coils and now the dryer works great. Thanks to all of you for all of your input. The dryer is nice and clean inside and running well. I wasn't too sure about taking the dryer apart to the point of pulling the drum, but it was really pretty easy. I even found enough change inside to buy a pint down at the pub!
