Question Whirlpool dryer keeps stoping and wont dry clothes
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GGQ9858JQ2
Age: 5 - 10 years

this is a whirlpool gold, ultimate care 2 with senseon. model number GGQ9858JQ2 . everytime I turn it on it will go on for a couple minutes then stop, and doing it over and over. my guess is that it is a sensor problem? heat is coming outand it works just keeps turning off. help figuring out what I need to do and what part I need fixed.

Heather when you say it cuts off, do you have to wait before it will come on right of way? If so you need a motor. If not it could very well be your door switch. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Default re to question

I just have to push the on button and it will go back on. it will run without stopping only on the towel dry option not the timer selection, and i can only use the low heat option, it will stop on medium or hi heat.

I think you have a timer problem. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Default GE Dryer wont turn on after hot

I have th GE Dryer GE DHDSR46EE1WW, it is about 2 years old and I have been having minor problems with it since i got. Now the dryer will turn off by it self and will not start back "Unless" I switch the heat mode to "No Heat", start it and then turn it back to full heat. Something like when your hair dryer, when hot, wont turn on until you blow the back of it until it clicks. Any suggestions?

Heather; Your dryer has a board that controls most of the operations. the timer only keeps time on your model. It's hard to find the cause of the board malfuncion,
the board controls the motor starting and running, heating systme, auto dry, wrinkle guard ect, replacing your timer is a waste of money. you need a whirlpool tech to look at your problem, they have the experience with the whirlpool gold systme.
