Question Whimpy heat, takes forever to dry
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: Heavy Duty Wrinkle Guard I
Age: More than 10 years

Until recently, dryer did great. A few days ago, it began to tumble clothes but not dry them. No heat on the "More dry/Less Dry" settings, type set to "Cotton." But if the Type is Permanent Press and method is set to Timed, it warms but doesn't get hot... and you have to run an average (not too large/spun to damp) load for more than an hour.
Disassembled the control head, removed lint, dust, spiders, etc. Cleaned every contact with CAIG anti-corrosives, since most were shades of green. Reassembled and tested: ok.
RESULT: On Timed Dry, set to Cotton, I now get some heat... probably 80-90 degrees. That's an improvement over Zero, but obviously not optimal performance. Ideas?
UPDATE: Well, that was short-lived. Now it doesn't heat at all. ARGH.
ALSO: Any idea where I can get a manual/diagram for this? If you say "Test the thermal regrommifier and reset the flux capacitor" I won't know where to find them.

Default

Can you please supply your model number?

First check your line voltage you should have 240 volt where the dryer plugs in.

Check the heating element for continuity or remove it and visually inspect.
