Default VOM testing of timer
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.76932690
Age: 5 - 10 years

Is there any way to test the timer using a multi-meter? I am stumped as to what is keeping this dryer from starting and laundry is piling up!

The door switch and timer motors are apparently working. I can see the timer motor running and the cam on the pulse timer is turning after pressing the start button. Both stop when the door is opened and restart when the door is closed.

I think I have found the thermal fuse. There is continuity across this fuse, so this is apparently not the problem.

The start button was replaced with a new one with no effect.

I have done some checking of the timer. The schematic shows what pairs of wires should be "hot" (if I am reading it correctly), but the meter shows no voltage across these pairs. Is there something I am missing or something else I should check, other than what has already been done?

If The Timer Clock Motor Is Turning You Have Power To The Timer That Far
You Should Have 2 Thermal Fuses#1 Is Low Left Of The Exaust Pipe, If Blown No Motor Energised, replace Fuse, It Protecks The Motor #2 Thermal Is Up High On Shiney Heaterbox On The Left, It Protecks The Heater From Burn Out. As For The Timer Question I'd Have To See It For Myself. So If You're In The Suncoast Of Florida, Stop By And I'll Have A Look At It This Week End Bettyboop

I'm only seeing one thermal fuse, both on the dryer and on the parts diagram on the Sears parts website. I've checked the one on the blower housing and it shows continuity. If there's another one, I'm not finding it.

As to dropping by, that would be some trip as I'm in northeast Iowa.
