Default Timer won't move in Auto Dry setting
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDG8416AAE
Age: More than 10 years

When setting the timer to any position in the Auto Dry section, it won't advance. The clothes can be totally dry, but the timer will not advance. The dryer just keeps on running until you open the door or manually shut off the timer. The timer does work properly in the Time Dry mode. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

In some kenmores the operating thermostat provides 2
functions, 1 it sets the temperature to dry properly, in auto cycle, when it stops heating for a minute, it runs the timer ahead, instead of the timer runs all the time on timed settings.
I usually replace the operating thermostat. This feature is on most of the kenmore/ whirrpools.
