Default Thermostat bad?? GE BRAND
Brand: Please select
Model Number: WSM2420TCAWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

so i had a GE repair guy come out and he said it was the element heater so i replaced it and still no heat.
i am about to order a high limit thermo and a safety thermo as i called another repair place and the man was very nice and talked me thru things.
i know the high limit thermo is located on the element heater and the part number i have for that is WE4X856(PS268282)? i am going to order this and replace this as well as the safety thermo which i have part # WE4X857(PS268283).
i was told for the safety thermo to stick the 2 wires together and check to see if they do something but cant remember what the guy said i wrote it down but ran out of room. can anyone help me here?
the problem is the dryer still does not heat up everything else works fine, except the dryer does not get hot? ive looked at a few other threads like this just wondering if someone knew what test i was talking about w/ disconnecting the 2 wires from the safety thermo and which one was the safety thermo?
thanks

If you stick the wire together from the thermostat all you are doing is bypassing it.

If the element heats when you do this you will know that the thermostat is bad.

It is not usual for the safety thermostat to be faulty.

I would guess that the operating thermostat that is located on the blower housing is causing your trouble or the thermal fuse.

Here is a link to your dryer model WSM2420TCAWW.
