Default Thermal Cutoff seems to be burning out
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: 111.86980800
Age: 5 - 10 years

Yesterday I replaced the thermal cutoff to my dryer and the dryer seemed to be working when I turned it on to test it. So I started a load of laundry and when I went to take it out of the dryer the clothes were still wet and it wasn't heating up anymore and yet again the thermal cutoff doesn't have continuity anymore. Just wondering if anyone had an idea of what could cause a new part to burn out as soon as you replace it

You need to test dryer before replacing fuze. This fuze blows on overtemerature due either to low air flow or bad thermostat. Run the dryer with the fuze temporarily shorted and check air flow outside and also measure temperature. Temperature should be below 150 degrees.

I had checked everything before I replaced the thermal cutoff the first time and the fuse had continuity then and does now. The airflow also seems to be fine.
