The temperature of the cotton/high setting should be about 150 degrees.

The temperature is controlled by a thermistor.

The resistance of the thermistor should be 1100 ohms at room temperature.

Here is a link to the parts of your dryer model 110.70912990.

Sheila
I must be an idiot but I can't find the thermister listed anywhere. I mean I know what it is, but your link to the parts made it impossible for me to find the part listed so I can order it.
Thanks

John

The thermistor should be in the exhaust duct behind the toe panel.

resistence of the thermostate, at room temperature, is only 870

What does this mean?

It seem that you thermostat is good and your room temperature is a round 80 degrees.

Thanks

Sheila, Your off on the temperature by about 5 to 8 degrees, shame on you.

Next I'll go to the selector switch then the CPU board.

Never heard the term thermistor-nice to learn at my age.

Trying to figure out why this machine will only heat to about 120 has become a mission at this point. Selector switch is intriguing as is the cpu board. With the cpu board removed machine still heats to only 120.

I'll report back.

Wish me luck
J
