Yes it could also be the starter switch
I just hate replacing parts unless it is necessary, it's a waste of time and money.
Does the dryer have a drum light
Did it work before this problem and does not work now
If the answere is yes, then it is your door switch
I do not have a wiring diagram for your unit so at best it is an educated guess
Remove power from the dryer
Unplug the connector at the switch
Get a paper clip and make a jumper to go between the two contacts of the connector
And give it a try
Just make sure your jumper will not short to anything
Another way is to buy yourself a volt/ohm meter
You can get a decent digital one for under $20.00. you do not need anything fancy.
Try to get one with leads a couple feet long
If it can save you from buying one unnescessary part it has paid for itself
Then you just put the meter across the switch on the 1X resistance scale, push the switch, if it does not short (0 ohms), it is the switch. |
