Default Squeaky dryer drum bearing
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DBXR453ET3WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Dryer sqeaks at rear of drum. Tension pully and belt are in good conditon. I can't find a way to get to the drum bearing to check it. How do I get to the bearing and what should I do when I get there?

GE DBXR453ET3WW Parts List

If you look at the cabinet you will see there is a rear access panel
Put a couple drops of oil on the shaft then rotate the drum a few time by hand to work it in. Do not go crazy with the oil your heater is right there, also oil does not look nice on white shirts.

There is a good chance you are going to have to pull the whole dryer apart in the near future to lube the bearing. Again do not use much, but do use a high temp grease. You may have to replace some parts depending on wear.
