My Maytag electric dryer has developed a awful squeak when it starts. After a few minutes it seems to lessen or go away completely. Also when the clothes are dry they are almost to hot to touch, is that normal?

bset, I would replace the two drum rollers, and the idler pully roller. That will take care of the squeaks. Your real problem is your vent. The vent is most likely clogged from behind the dryer out to the outside. It is probably taking too long to dry also. The heat is not escaping, so the clothes get real hot.
