Default Spec for installing pulley on motor shaft
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDG5910AAL
Age: More than 10 years

I am replacing the motor on my dryer and so need to re-install the pulley wheel onto the motor shaft of the new motor. I have read elsewhere that it is very important to install the pulley precisely on the shaft so that it lines up correctly with the idler pulley and belt. Is this so? And if so, how can I determine the correct position of the pulley wheel on the shaft? Is there a mark or specific distance the pulley wheel should be from the motor mount or shaft end? Or do I just push the pulley wheel onto the shaft as far as it will go and then tighten the allan screw?

Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

There should be a mark on the old shaft where the pulley cam off.

Measure both shafts new and old and install.

I don't think that it is that crucial of a measurement.

Here is a link to your dryer model LDG5910AAL.
