Default Some heat, but not drying clothes
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.86873100
Age: More than 10 years

My Kenmore Electric Dryer is all original parts and is 18 years old. The drum turns and there's some heat, but the clothes just aren't getting dry. Do I need to replace the heating element?

This summer we re-ran all the duct work from the thin plastic exhaust piping to the aluminum foil wrapped piping. Didn't know if it would have any relevance...

Hi,

The heating element either works or does not.

If you have some heat the element is fine.

With the age it is I would remove the back and then the blower housing.
I believe you will find it packed with lint.
