Default Should resistor show continuity?
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER5624BW2
Age: More than 10 years

I'm fixing a dryer (my first time) Wife said ran 1 sec and quit. Tested thermal fuse and it's bad. Resistor gives no reading either. Should I replace it too?

Default Thermal fuse failed then replaced worked 4 days

Thermal fuse failed then replaced worked 4 days and has failed again .

This is my first time ever working on dryer , note , since you have it open vac it everyplace you can including in lint screen area to collect all lint that made it past screen , which will help prevent fire issue and also if you drop a screw ... I did ... make it easier to find .

I'm ordering another thermal fuse , but now wonder if the dryer was really overheating the first time ( outside body of dryer skin was very hot ) or if instead the drum motor was pulling too much current ( 10 years old ) with this thermal fuse in one leg of the drum motor , maybe I really have a failing overheating motor that popped this thermal fuse ...?

I say this because it all started with me being assigned by wife ( boss...;-) to help with the wash and drying ... so I loaded up th edryer fully and after two of those loads it failed .... while she always runs half loads .
