My old maytag dries like a champ. I works fine, but sounds like a screaming banshee. I replaced the belt. What else should I do? Help!!!

Default drum supports worn out?

My vintage hotpoint dryer had similar problems. There are two felt-padded supports that hold up the front edge of the drum. The pads had worn down to the point where the drum dragged on the metal bracket.
New pads... noise gone.
Good luck.
