Have read most of all the threads and can't find answer. I replaced thermal fuse and cutoff thermostat it worked and then went to use 30 minutes later and didn't. how do you check continuity and what should the meter say for thermal fuse and element. what is continuity? should it be at 0. and should wire be off of part when checking. how do you know if its good or bad.

Continuity is the uninterrupted path in a wire for power to flow.

You should have zero resistance.

In the element the resistance will depend on the wattage of the element.

When testing any component you should remove the wires from it so you don't get a reading from something else in the circuit.

If the fuse is open or there is a break in the heating element current can not flow.

If the thermal fuse is open again check the venting to the dryer it is likely blocked.

If the thermal fuse in the dryer open the dryer will not run.

If it is the fuses in your home that are causing the problem it could be a bad fuse holder.
