Default Roper dryer
Brand: Roper
Model Number: res7646kq2
Age: 1 - 4 years

My roper dryer heats way too much. I found the heating element was warped and possibly grounding to the housing. The thermal fuse is fine but how do I check the thermostats and heat cycle switch to see if they need to be replaced?

What do you mean by the heating element being warped?

On your wiring diagram you should be able to tell if your thermostat is normally open or normally closed. By heating the thermostat up and letting it cool you will be able to hear or with a ohm meter see that it is operating.

Your thermostats are numbers 8, 9, and 15.

Here is a link to your thermostats.
