Default Reseating the Drum of a Dryer
Brand: Gibson
Model Number: GSE746RFS3
Age: 5 - 10 years

There is a gap between the drum and the housing of the dryer. As a result, clothes get stuck in this gap and discolored and/or ruined. How does one reseat the drum in order to close this gap?

Note: This is a stackable unit and the dryer is on top.
Thanks!!!

What you have to do is replace the rear bearing kit, and on the front panel on the inside there are 4 2 inch long nylon drum glides, that need to be replaced, I am sure these are black streaks that are on the clothes. Take the top off, and then take the front off the dryer, and then in the back of the dryer, there is an access panel. Take it off, and then take the belt off. Then grab the drum in the middle in the back and pull real hard, and the drum will unseat from the rear hub. Replace everything in the kit, and fill up the white hub with a ton a the lithium greese they give you. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

Default regarding replacing the bearing kit

There are not black streaks, but brown, like rusty color. I'm wondering, would the dryer sound funny if the bearings were shot? Isn't there any way to reseat the dryer without replacing all those parts? If I need to replace the bearing kit, where do I buy it?
