Default Replace heating element
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: gler331cas1
Age: 5 - 10 years

I need to replace the heating element in my frigidaire gallery dryer, I have no idea as to how it comes apart, if anyone has step by step diections, I would greatly appreciate it, doe the drum have to come out or how do I gain access to the element

Here is a link to a parts breakdown, shows how the top fits on.
Undo the two hinges at the back of the top then it is held by two clips at the front. sometimes you have to insert a putty knike to release the clips

If you have not had it opened up how do you know it is the heater
Other components can also cause a no heat condition

Looking insde the drum I could see the glow or the element right before it caught fire, I can still see the element inside the drum and hear it scrap the drum as I manually turn it

Just wanted to be sure that you had not jumped to a conclusion.

When you reassemble it, put some high temp grease on the rear drum bearing assy.
Also be careful when you remove the grounding strap from the back of the drum bearing assy, it has a ball bearing in it which has an uncanny ability to find a hiding place once released.
