Default Removing Dryer Drum
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DBL333EB4WW
Age: 1 - 4 years

How does one go about removing the drum from a late model GE dryer that does not have a drum bearing inspection plate on the back? Older models had the plate on the back from which one could reach the clip holding everything in place. I don't see any easy way to remove the drum without that access port. Thanks for any info on this.

There is a ball on the back of the drum that fits into a socket on the back of the dryer. The way to remove it is straight up.

Thanks! I had not thought of that. It worked! Now I can check out the motor. It just hums when I try to start it up. That will probably lead me to another posting. Thanks!
