Default Refurbish my Dryer - Maytag ldg8604aae
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: ldg8604aae
Age: More than 10 years

I am planning on refurbishing my dryer. It is very loud when it is running. I speculate the roller and belt is in need of replacement. I figure as long as I am in there, what other parts would it make sense to replace at this point? I have gone through the part schematics and I have come up with the following list:

Front and Rear Drum Felt
Drum Support Roller
Roller Shaft Washers
Roller Shaft Retaining Ring
Tumbler & Motor Rib Belt
Idler Pulley
Idler Pulley Washers
Idler Shaft Retaining Ring

Not sure if I should replace these:
Idler Spring
Idler Pulley Arm

Can anyone think of anything else?

What is this part called the Front Guide Kit?

Thanks in advance for any input.

John

I would do the rollers for sure and the belt

The rest of the parts may or may not be worn

Roller shafts only wear very slowly, you are running oilite bearings on steel so the bearings wears out long before the shafts

Also applies to the idler re: plastic in many cases on steel

If you can open it up and check all the parts before ordering
