Question Oldoldman
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DE410
Age: More than 10 years

I was putting in a new wheel blower. The themostat plastic piece to exit column came in contact with the metal dryer frame (I left the dryer plugged in ..my bad) Then a spark from a thermostat contact and boom dryer will not turn on. The thermosats, dryer door switch, push on switch check out ok per multimeter. The buzzer did not. Could the buzzer be the problem? Thank you!

Very doubtful that it would be the buzzer

If it did not trip the circuit breaker, turn it off/on slowly a couple times.
Sometimes you can loose power without actually tripping the breaker,
Check that you have 220 volts at the plug, make sure to also test each side to Neutral for 120 volts. The only thing that runs on 220 is the heater, the motor and timer use 120.

Most likely would be the thermal fuse but you have checked this, it is the only heater device that will stop the motor from running. Hopefully you have the schematic, then it is just a matter of checking the circuit one device at a time.
