Default Old Kenmore/Whirlpool not heating
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110-76691100
Age: More than 10 years

My old dryer just stopped heating. I just finished a load and it dried perfectly. I put another load in, started it, and heard a "pop". The dryer stopped. Then I hit the power button again and it tumbled and would not dry. Voltage at the outlet is reading correctly. And I've unplugged the machine and used my multi-meter set at RX1K on the three thermostats visible and get a reading of zero. Ideas?

Did you disconnect one wire from the thermostat when measuring, to ensure you are not actually reading an alternate path

Use 1X all should be 0 ohms

Check your heater, should be 8 to 15 ohms
Pop could be the element blowing
