Default Ohm meter, how to use

I am trying to test my dryers components with an old voltage/ resistance meter. Instead of an R-1 value, it has several dial selections:2000k, 200k, 20k, 2000 and then 200. they are all bracketed with an omega symbol, which I guess is the ohm resistance area? I greatly apprecieate any help.
