Default Not cooling down
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DBXR453EV0WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Walking by the dryer recently (GE DBXR453EV0WW) I noticed the cabinet was hot as if it had just turned off, however it had not been used in 2 or 3 days. I unplugged the unit opened it up cleaned out all the lint and checked continuity nothing shorted. Did find the heating element had broke, but it had not been contacting the cabinet. Would this be a problem with the timer or ??? I would like to avoid replacing parts till I get the right one.
Thanks Nuklhedrydr

If the element was broken and there was heat coming form the dryer check to see if the is a wire from a bra making contact with the element and the housing.

You will need a new element.

Here is a link to your dryer model DBXR453EV0WW.

If your dryer was hot and was not running, you might need a new drive motor switch, when a dryer motor starts, it also connects the power to the heat element.
when the cycle is over,or door is opened, the element is turned off as motor stops. this happens once in a while, but not an unusal occurance. a motor switch
is attached to the pulley end of the motor. not an expensive part. BETTYBOOP
