I have the same problem with my Kenmore dryer in the Auto dry cycle.
It works in the timed dry. Any suggestion?

It is likely the operating thermostat that needs to be replaced.
Can you please supply your model number?

Without a Model Number this is just a guess
Quite a few dryers have a resistor that is in series with the timer motor. It is only used in AUTO cycles. Could be blown. Usually located in the control console.
