Question No heat and timer not working
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER4634PQ0
Age: 1 - 4 years

We have had this dryer less than 2 years bought it brand new.The dryer seemed to run for many hours .I checked on it and it wasnt even warm to the touch(we live in houston and its july)So i tried to run it on every cycle.It didnt shut off on its own and it never got hot on any cycle .Any ideas?

You might have a blown thermal fuze on the heater housing. You will need a meter to check this out. Refer to the enclosed schematic.

Also, I've heard there are 2 fuses in back and that its best too change both when one goes out.

your problem is not thermal fuze. you need a heatint element. i replaced mine and now it works fine.

Get a meter and use it. Unless your ducting is clogged, it's very rare for heater to blow so soon.

You might have the new high watt density heater, these blow out a lot faster particularly if you have line voltage over 240 volts.

problem is the heating element. $45.00 at part store.

1. unplug dryer
2. take back of dryer off
3. unscrew bottom part of silver-colored cylinder on right.
4. pull out heating element from bottom.
5. relace with new h.e. (may need to swap old thermastat on new h.e.)
6. re-plug dryer
7. dry clothes to your hearts content.
