Default No Heat, doesn't turn off.
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: PYE2300AZW
Age: 1 - 4 years

My Maytag Drier doesn't heat up and doesn't turn off. I've changed the Heater element and the thermostat and it is still running cold. Any ideas?

if the timer was set in the auto dry and the dryer was not heating them the timer will not move. check for burnt wires or open thermostats

First I would check to see if all the wires that go to timer are connected correctly. if they are then you will need a new timer... hope it helps let me know and good luck

Hi eric,
It looks like she change the thermostat .

If she have a bad or unpluged run wire on the timer then the timer would not advance or heating or if the timer had a bad contact then it would do the same?

am I correct about this ? or would it not do any thing with a bad timer?

please let me know what you think?

Guys, Thanks so much for your help. But I figure out the problem. There was only one cord attached to the heating coil when i first looked at the dryer. The other must have fallen off. So once I attached the other cord, the heat and timer started to work again.
This is a great forum, it's not ever day a complete stranger help you for sake of helping you. You are great people and I can't thank you enough. All the best Jacquie
