Default No heat
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LG5721XS
Age: More than 10 years

Two days ago the dryer stopped blowing hot air. Everything runs fine with the exception of the dryer heating up. No gas leak and the gas is present at the connection. Can someone advise what should be checked to confirm what is wrong.

You may have a bad igniter or valve.

Unplug the dryer.

Remove the harness plug from the gas valve terminals and measure the resistance across the terminals .

Between terminals 1 and 2 you should have 1365 ohms plus or minus 25%.

Between terminals 1 and 3 you should have 560 ohms plus or minus 25%.

Between terminals 4 and 5 you should have 1220 ohms plus or minus 50%.

If you don't get these readings you have a faulty valve.

Here is a link to your dryer model LG5721XS.

For a more detailed breakdown of your dryer you will need the last two digits of your model number.
