Default Neptune - How does one unlatch the top to get at the drum
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDE5500AYQ
Age: 5 - 10 years

The screws have come loose on one of the drum agitators. I need to remove the top piece of the dryer to screw them back in securely. How if possible do I loosen the top to lift it and get at the outside of the drying drum? Help is appreciated.

Read an earlier post on the same subject and it worked. Thanks for this site. It's great. For others
Remove the 4 screws on the front panel(2 on hinges for front door and 2 on the opposite side). Remove front panel. Remove 2 screws on the clips located in the upper left and right corners, that secure clips. Lift top on its hinges. Perform repair and do the opposite to put it back together.
