I'm unable to locate the "spring catches" just below the cabinet top. Is there a more specific location to find these with the putty knife, or is it just keep trying until you hit your mark?

Red face model number

Maytag Performa PYE 2200 AYW
I have popped the top and got the front off, I'm now trying to locate the fuse that "may" be blown. The dryer quit running mid cycle. The steps I've taken: checked the breaker switch, the machine was fully plugged in, the door switch is working fine.
Please give me other suggestions and exactly where the fuse is.
Thank you

The thermal fuse is on the right side of the heating element. Just follow the 2 white wires, and they will lead you to the thermal fuse. When you get the kit, you need to use the thermal fuse that has the blue dot on it. Also the thermostat that comes with the kit goes on top of the heating element. Also take the front off, and clear all the lint from the blower housing on the front. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
