Hi, jmchenry! Thanks for the encouraging support. I did some inquiry today and found out from my local parts dealer that there is a thermostat on the blower housing (little black sensor where the heat makes a 45degree turn up into the back of the dryer drum, and they noted that this part commonly goes out with the same result of the lint filter light showing blinking and no fireup at when pressing the start button. They advised to try to unclip the plug(2 wires and then bridge across the plug with the dryer unplugged, then plug in and try to fire, but do not run long. If it fires then you have a bad thermostat sensor.
Well I tried that, and no dice. So I started thinking of bridging across other sensors in the front of the dryer are 2 sensors in the lint box area, those can be reached through the round front hole. . Ibridged one, and still no dice, didnt try the 2nd one, but a friend out of the blue suggested who knows, you could even have a bad belt tension switch. (or belt breakage safety switch.) Well, that was my next try and I bridged across the switch with the dryer unplugged and then plugged in and hit the start button and HEY!! That was it! Fired right up, so what had happened!?? I had removed the back off the drum, and loosened the belt and somehow the switch was "tripped"! It is a simple push button to reset continuity . You push in on the left side and it resets the safety switch. That certainly had nothing to do with the idiot light saying "Lint Filter!" So Im very relieved that Im operating again, however there is a slight bump or knock coming from the rear of the drum and Ive had it apart and cleaned it all, andthe felt looks good, so Im at a loss as to what that noise could be from, but it seems to be central to the drum support or center rear drum support bushing. Im ignoring it until it gets louder or worsens to the point it becomes obvious. Id appreciate any insight about that noise if anyone has any ideas!!!
SOmeday maybe this post will help another bosch owner do it yourselfer!
Happy new year! Keep thos appliances running!!! Marcus |
