Default Need belt replacement(I think)
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 65512
Age: More than 10 years

My dryer is approx 10 years old. It started making a squealing sound day before yesterday, and now, when the on button is pushed, it tries to start but that is it, so I think that a belt is broken. The button makes noise when you push it, but that is it. Is there more than one belt, does this in fact sound like the belt, and is it possible to change it ourselves?

Can you please verify your model number?

It is on a tag in the door area.

Is there any sounds coming from the motor?

You should be able to replace the belt yourself.

Sorry but there should be three numbers before the 9655120.

Is this a Canadian model?

Sounds like a bad motor, they make a loud humm when trying to start. Take dryer apart. Check motor for play in bearings or black/burnt windings.
