If you cannot find any external reason why the motor is overheating, it will have to be replaced.
Then you have to decide, is it worth putting that much money into a repair or would you be better off buying a new unit. I would only install a new motor if the rest of the dryer is in very good shape. Next to go would probably be the timer or the heater.
If you do decide to replace the unit. I would recommend you look at a dryer which is close to the one you have
re: mechanical timer, roller support at the back of the drum
Stay away from digital printed circuit board controls and fancy mostly unnecessary options.
