Default My dryer squeals!
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: DE482
Age: More than 10 years

My dryer makes a really high pitch squeal everytime we run it. The drum turns normally and all that, but it just makes a very annoying squeal. Any suggestions?

There is a shaft behind the drum that fits into a plastic cuplike holder for the shaft. the sqeal you hear is the shaft hitting bare metal. You need to grease the shaft with a high temperature grease. To do this you need to open the dryer up and pull the drum back from the back and you will see the shaft that I am talking about.
