Default Motor voltage on gas vs elec dryer
Brand: Other
Age: More than 10 years

Are the air blower motors on a typical 220v dryer wired to run on 220v, or do they use one leg of the 220 and are typically a 110v motor.

I need to do some ling buildup experiments and want to use the motor from a typical dryer, as they are more common to find a used one, than a gas dryer. i know a gas dryer is 110v, but i am having a hard time finding a used or broke one to salvage the motor from. Thanks

All dryers are about the same, the major difference is gas uses a burner for heat, and an electric uses an 240 heat element, motors, timers ect are 120 volt
