Default Motor dead?
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: pye2300ayw
Age: 1 - 4 years

The dryer quit in mid-cycle. The motor has power to both leads, but won't spin. It will spin freely when spun by hand. When I do the two tests on the motor from the test page, it checks out fine. It does not ground out from either terminal to the cage and the two terminals have 0 resistence between the terminals. Is it bad or not?

Any thoughts?

All the thermostat switches are good, with continuity between both or all of the terminals, depending on the unit.

Thanks, Greg

Did you check the thermal fuse (if there is one on yours). Might be white plastic piece.

I Don't Know Your Model, But Most Dryers Use The Same Principals, Just The Parts Are Located In Diferent Places On Diferante Makes.
Possable Causes: Motor Protector Thermal Fuse, Or Wire Burned Off Of Timer, motor Switch, bad Door Switch, If Yours Has A Electronic Motor Control Board , That Has Gone Bad, My Usual Suspect Is Thermal That Protects Motor From Burn Out, Bettyboop
