Default Motor 303358 pulley removal
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDE 8704 ACE
Age: More than 10 years

Hello,
I was having a problem with the original motor (p/n 6-3033580-7) in my Maytag dryer (model LDE 8704 ACE). It was making a terrible screeching sound, and after much investigation, it turned out that I had to replace the motor. So I bought the replacement (same p/n and everything) but was disappointed to find that the pulley wasn't attached to drive shaft of the new motor. Now I'm trying to remove the old pulley, which still seems fine, from the original motor to put it on the new one. The problem is that I can't get the set screw to budge at all. Any advice on how to remove the pulley and attach it to the new motor?

Well first use an american,(not metric) allen wrench, with the short end in the set screw, give the wrench a sharp rap with a normal hammer to break loose the set screw
