Age: 1 - 4 years

Dryer does nothing when the cycle buttons are pushed. For all intents and purposes it appaers to not have power. Then, days later, in the middle of the night I'll hear it beeping at me to push the start button. If I push the strart button it will run..if I push the stop button it will stop....but pushing any of the cycle buttons will not get it started again...it appears to not have any power. If I walk away, soon it will start beeping with the 40 or 50 minute numerals flashing and will start if I push that button...this will happen several times then go dead and not respond to any buttons or beep for several days

It sounds like one the control boards may be faulty.

Check in the console and see if there is a technician sheet.

This will help you test the dryer.

Here is a link to your dryer model GEW9868KL0.

There is more then one control listed for your model so when ordering you will have to have your serial number.
