 Maytag has heat, tumbles, but dryer not drying Brand: Maytag Model Number: PYE4500AYW Age: 1 - 4 years
I recently replaced the fuse and high temp thermostat, and cleaned out the front door of lint as well as took ductwork completely apart and vacuumed out from the back of dryer to the outside of the house (found an obstruction of lint near the outside exit). Dryer worked well for about a month and now, things aren't drying. I lifted the top and noticed the heating element glows orange. I am thinking it might be the blower motor that needs replacing. I don't notice much air flow when I open the door and turn the dryer on. Unfortunately, this part is $120. I won't be spending $120 for the blower motor, but will want to put that into a new dryer. Is there a possibility that there is some other cheaper or free (with just labor) solution to my problem? |
