Default Maytag Gas Dryer NO Heat
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDG8506AAE
Age: 5 - 10 years

Dryer won't heat.

No Ignitor glow. Checked Thermal Fuse - OK. Pulled two wire plug from ignitor and only reads 27 volts.

Suggestions on what to check up stream would be appreciated.

OK, so here's what else I checked and need some help/confirmation with.
1) High Limit Thermostat - Continuity check OK
2) Thermal Fuse - Continuity check OK
3) Flame/Radiant Sensor - OPEN
4) Gas Valve Boosting and Holding Coil - All 3 connections read OPEN
5) Gas Valve Secondary Coil - All 2 connections read OPEN
*** Both 4 & 5 above I thought that a reading might go from Open to some smaller resistance reading??? Say 500-600 ohms

So....I am thinking that Flame Sensor is bad which is not allowing Ignitor to fire? Thus the 27 volts? Anyone with experience willing to assist?

Are the Gas Valve Coils OK? I can't imagine how all 3 parts could go bad same day etc....

Alright.....Looks like it is a bad Flame/Radiant Sensor. I determined this by shorting across the two terminals and got the ignitor to glow. After about 8 seconds, gas came on and it fired just like I thunk it should.

New Flame/Radiant Sensor on order and suspect she'll be fixed by weeks end.

Thanks for all y'alls help from all previous posts I had priviledge to reading. I probably saved myself a kewl $100 which I'm gonna take the wife out for some drive thru
