Default Maytag Dryer Won't Start
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDE4000AYW
Age: 5 - 10 years

The old Maytag is a bit grumpy these days. A repairman was called in to diagnose the problem and give me an estimate. The timer was the culprit and the quote to repair was an outrageous $330.00. I ordered the timer and start switch(just in case)and replaced them both. When I tried to start the dryer nothing happened. My wife said she thought she heard the timer start to click and then stopped. I went ahead and checked the continuity on the new start switch, door switch, and thermal fuse closest to the front of the dryer. Those parts checked out OK.
Any help with the next steps to take would be appreciated.

Chris

Hi,

Make sure you have 240 Volts to the dryer.

This video will show you how to check it and explain more.
