Default Maytag Dryer Won't Heat
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDE7304ACE
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi, hoping someone can help me out! I noticed the other day that my dryer wouldn't start and after checking around on a few things I determined that the circuit breaker in my house clicked off. I turned it back on and now the dryer will turn on, but it doesn't have any hot air on any setting. I figured this out because I put a load of laundry in on the Auto Dry setting and the next morning the dryer had not turned off and the clothes were still damp. So my dryer won't heat and won't ever turn off after being started. Hopefully someone has an idea of what went wrong. Please Help!

The first thing you need to check is that you have power going to the back of the dryer where the cord comes in. There is a terminal block back there. Put your volt meter on the far right terminal to the middle terminal, and you should read 120 volts, then check from the far left terminal to the middle and you should get 120 volts. Then check from the far right to the far left terminal, and you should read 240 volts. If you have that, then check the element and the thermal fuse and the high limit thermostat for continuity, with the dryer unplugged. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

Tom, I'm glad you mentioned checking that first, because after the breaker went out, I wasn't getting the full amount of electricity needed. Got the breaker fixed and it's working well again. Thanks
