Default Maytag Dryer will not shut off
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDG7658BWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer was spazmatic when turning on - pulling out the button, sometimes it would work, other times you had to play with the button for it to kick in. Then it stopped working all together. I then replaced the timer. Now the dryer will not shut off. The intelidry indicator light stays on damp mode. The timer does not advance in any mode. It heats up fine, however will not shut off on any cycle. I am wondering if replacing the idtelidry board would fix the problem. I was thinking maybe the new timer is bad. Has anyone else have this happen or have any suggestions ? Thanks

Have you check the part number on both timers.

Here is a link to your dryer model MDG7658BWW.

I ordered the intellidry sensor, installed it and it solved the problem.
