Default Maytag Dryer loses air-flow
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDG8824AAE
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer has suddenly started taking a LONG time to dry the clothes. I usually clean the vent on the outside & it's fine. But that didn't fix it, so I replaced the entire vent hose & made sure it's all clear. It seemed fine - good air flow - got hot. Then I put clothes in, & the air flow seemed to drop dramatically. The drum is turning fine, the ignitor & gas are firing up. But condensation is forming behind the dryer (I have it slightly pulled out so I can check it) where it goes outside. The dyer sits next to the outside wall, so it only vents about 2.5 feet. The thermostat & the coils were replaced a few years ago. Any ideas on what could cause the drop in air flow?

Could be your drum seals, with a heavy load, the worn seals open up and let cold room air in and stop air flow from it's normal path
