I have a Maytag Dryer whose pull-knob to start won't work anymore. I believe I need to replace both it and/or the timer housing that's under the front panel. I have disconnected the timer housing from the electrical supply, but I can't get the knob disconnected from it so as to remove it completely. Does anyone know how?

Hi,

There are three parts to that timer knob.

The top cover to the knob needs to come off first.
Take a putty knife or small flate blade screwdriver and work it into the side and pop the top of the timer knob off.

Once the top of the knob is off the rest of the knob will just pull off.
