Dryer is not drying clothes in 1 cycle and is making a rattling noise.

There is a very good possibility that , you have a partially clogged vent to the outside. Turn the dryer on, and go outside to your vent, and see if it is blowing well. It should be blowing reasonably strong. The rattling noise, at this time could be the rollers, or the idler pully. Is it a rattle, or is it a thumping noise. thanks for the information- the noise is both thumping and rattling like there is a coin loose inthe machine. There isn't I checked. Also when you open the door to stop the tumbling it smells like exhaust- it's a gas dryer.

You could have a clogged vent also to the outside. I would replace the 2 rollers, the idler pully, and belt. Tom
