Maytag Auto Dry Issue Brand: Maytag Model Number: SDG4000AWW Age: 5 - 10 years Our trusty Maytag dryer does not advance through it's cycle in the Auto Dry settings (not a moisture sensor type newer dryer). Having read these forums quite a bit and started repair work I have these facts:
1) It does advance in Timed Dry mode.
2) Clothes have no issues drying in either mode (dryer heats up)
3) All temperature settings appear to function normally (can tell difference in heat).
4) Even with a strong, hot flow of air, I have cleaned blower and duct assemblies to be safe. The dryer has a very short run (<2') to outside and strong flow outside.
5) I have replaced the cycling thermostat via part from this website.
6) No obvious loose/grounded wires or contacts in lower dryer.
7) Have not taken apart console to view timer assembly.
8) This started after a 2 month period of storage (remodeling utility room).
So, I think my next steps should be:
A) Somehow check new cycling thermostat is good (anyone know correct voltages or have a wiring diagram?)
B) Get into console area and inspect/test timer assembly.
Any advice, observations, help available? I tried not to bug you all, but I'm at that point I need some advice. Thanks in advance. |
